Thanks, Bob. I too think it will fit. Unfortunately its on the other side of Australia from me. I have a mate there who can check out its condition but he doesn't
know the A bodies at all.
Will a tow hitch from a '70 GTO fit a '69 Skylark? I can get the GTO one locally (well at least in Australia) and wonder if anyone can confirm the interchange?
Thanks for all replies,
Chris
I've pretty much got the disc conversion done, about 90%. Some minor problems with the kit.
The kit usually comes with a 1" M/cyl, I went for a 1 1/8",since thats what GM used back in the day.

Did the inlet manifold on a SBC once. I didn't have issues with both ends, only the front rubber section was displaced & leaking oil. Cleaned it up & wipped black silicone over the leaking area. I...
Makes sense to me. Thanks Bob. I'll be glad when this is over. Front disc conversion, offset upper shafts, tall upper ball joints & an oil pan with rust pin holes in it.
Slowlly grinding my way...
Dropped the oil pan out of my Buick last night. Getting dark & I was over cars for the day. About to reinstall it & notice 2 bolts are longer than the others.
Where on the pan do they go? Engine...
It looks like 71-84 Holden springs interchange. So I can shop locally & talk directly to the spring makers. And save some coin too.
Gotta love GM interchangeability!!
Thanks for all replies,...
Thanks again Bob, more food for thought.
Have a look at Pirate Jacks. They have front & rear disc kits for the A bodies. I've just ordered their front disc conversion for my '69 Skylark.
Should see it in early July. I'd be happy to give...
Sorry Bob, I didn't make it clear enough, I already have a 7/8" rear bar. The BBC springs will raise it too far.
I'm leaning to a GS or slightly firmer option. Anyone know the spring...
Seeking advice on spring selection for my '69 Skylark. 2 Dr Htp, Buick 350,TH 350. Not after racecar handling, but something a little firmer than stock.

Well it's now intermitant. Comes & goes. Off to the auto sparky, me thinks. Thank you again for your advice.
Cheers,

No mods, all was well 4 weeks ago.
http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/bucketschart.htm Gives some basics, but any 40 odd year old seat, no matter where it's from is going to be less than pristine.
“IGN” light won’t go out- even with the switch off & key out.
I never had the problem after I did the column the first time. I revisted the column to
replace the sector gear, ign switch &...
My '69 Skylark needs a new radiator. Could someone recommend a good supplier? I'd like to go to a 4 row, but keep the stock fan & shroud.
Since I live in Australia, I need to the correct one,...
There's a paint called "Alclad" I've never seen it used to replace chrome on real cars but I've seen some good results on model cars. A bit out of left field, I know.
I've never used it, just seen...

I got lucky! My letter to the previous owner in CA got a reply, got some pics and he's happy to answer some questions.
And thanks from me too, Ray. That crankshaft coalitation webite looks (at quick glance) to be a treasure trove of info.
Cheers,
Chris
On holiday with Anne, and stumbled on this small car show. We wished we had the Skylark with us, would have added another 50% to the number of Buicks there.
The wagon will be familar, but the...
Thanks, Bob. I checked with the Sloan, they have 1970 VINS, mine's a '69. Oh well, maybe the former owner or the CA DMV will enlighten me.
Cheers,
Chris
I'd like to trace my cars history, I have the CA title & licence plate details. Just fired off a letter to the last owner's address- I might get lucky.
The CA DMV want international customers to...
