401-425 starters are the same, just get the year right. 64-66 starters are different than 63-earlier due to the different transmissions used.

Steve, the ID codes are stamped on the top of the block on the passenger side, just in front of the valley cover.
The metal tube is just steel brake line. One end fits inside a stainless steel tube pressed into the exhaust manifold. Remove any remaining broken/rusted pieces from it using a drill and bit.

The 6 blade fan would be a good choice. Stockers usually had a 4 blade fan.
Some GM applications even used a 7 blade fan for HD and AC applications.
fan selection would be determined by how much air flow you need to keep it cool.
