Appreciate the info. I plan on removing the original generator and replacing it using a 1 or 3 wire alternator rated at around 100 amps. Any additional thoughts? This one is going to go on my '60...
Hopefully this is the right place to post this. I'm thinking of replacing my old voltage regulators in my 2 1960 Buick Lesabre's. Question: One of my Buicks has the 401 4 bbl the other has the 364 2...
I've seen this mentioned before but it may be worth a thread or two. Have any of you used Marvel Mystery Oil before, if so what were your experiences? Also, it's color and consistency reminds me of...
SOLVED!!! Thanks for the info guys. First, it's been too hot here and I really didn't want to crawl around and contort in and under a vehicle BUT: Finally got Gary to check it out at the shop and it...
Thank you for that tidbit of info! I will certainly check that out and post results! As you know it's frustrating to have a car 'finished up' and ready to go and suddenly the gremlins start appearing...
Okay, went out yesterday, car (1960 Lesabre 4 dr. hardtop 364/2bbl) started up fine, runs great. Using the old am radio, radio stops working, also now not working the turn signals, brake lights,...
Keeping my 1960 Lesabre convertible stock but thought I'd alter my 1960 Lesabre 4DHT a bit. I put a nice 2 tone retro paint job on it and added a redone retro looking interior to it but I want to air...
Thanks Bob, sometimes we all get overstocked BUT I've still got my two 1960 LeSabres!
Quite simply 7 total vehicles is too many for a retiree so my 1969 Buick Sportwagon 400 and my Pontiac Solstice are going. The Wagon is a solid runner with "great bones". Believe me my reserve is...
A few b/w nostalgia photos from the 1965-66 Detroit Autorama (including some Buick power). It's refreshing to see some 'un-sanitized' customs without all the fancy staging and decorations.
1965 &...
Thanks for the info. They looked so similar I was thinking of swapping out mine for a chrome set for my '60 Flat-Top. Oh well.....:shield:
Is this the part number for the cosmetic headlight surrounds on the '60 Lesabre, Invicta, Electra? GM 3742509
Gosh it's fun getting the bugs out of a vehicle that hasn't run in a year! My '69 Buick Sportwagon is up and running again....such as it is. The car runs and drives great BUT....today it wouldn't...
Thank you so much for clearing that up for me! Mystery solved!:hurray:
Is the 1969 Buick Sportwagon windshield wiper motor special or is a 1969 Skylark wiper motor the same? Seems the internet is teeming with every 1969 Buick wiper motor EXCEPT the...
Great responses guys, just the other day I was driving my 60 Lesabre (401 4bbl) hot day, high humidity, shut off the car and after about 5 minutes I went to start it again and it was just a little...
Thanks for the response, does plugging the exhaust passages under the carb have any effect on performance or drivability? What would you suggest to use to plug them up?
Found this listing on Ebay, do they work, are they necessary, and will they do any harm?
This listing is for a set of 4 new intake manifold gasket, exhaust crossover portplugs to fit Buick...
I'm looking to remove the mounting saddle off of one radiator and attach it to another. The car is a 1960 Lesabre. Have any of you board members had to do this and can you pass along any tips?...
Thanks a lot guys, I'll post back when I get it all done!

PS: Sorry for the late reply.... I really appreciate all the knowledge on this forum!
looking to trace down a heater blower motor for a '60 Lesabre. So far it's been fruitless, does anyone have any sources or does anyone know if any other '60 GM's are the same motor?
As I knock on wood I think the problem has been solved. As it turns out the cheap-*** fuel pump I installed was just that, cheap-***. It was putting out less than 2lbs. of pressure.

I recently picked up a 1960 4 dr. flat roof Lesabre sedan w/364 2 barrel. Had the carb rebuilt, upper engine rebuild and brakes done. 1 problem, twice now when making a quick or fast turn the vehicle...
