Been a LONG time since I posted on this forum. I have a 1952 Roadmaster 76R that I'm going to be putting on the market due to a divorce...what are these things going for nowadays? See photos for...
Nah it was definitely not Buick Farm, it was for sure in MA up by NH...for some reason I am thinking Lowell. Guy had 2 yards not far from each other...no website either. Seems as if more and more...
A couple of years ago I recall using an old Buick boneyard in Massachusetts (maybe in Lowell?) but for the life of me I cannot recall it's name. Does anybody know? For sure a learned about it on...
I managed to get the parts I needed, as well as an insulator from a 1951 4-door...ha ha which is apparently different from the insulator from a 2-door. I had not realized the diameter of the shafts...
Does anybody know of a source for the insulator and terminal used for the early 50's antenna? I went to put a new mast in my antenna base today only to find that about 50% of the antenna is missing...
I hear what you're saying, believe me. My first deduction was bad flasher...which is why I bought the cheap replacement one. What completely threw me off is when the first flasher didn't work...
UPDATE: Alright, so his afternoon I resolved to figure this out. Spent a long time going through wiring, and like I said the wiring outside of the firewall wasn't terrible but not perfect. So a...
Okay so here's what I did. With the charger taken off of the battery, it read 6.55V at the battery terminals. I put the Tung-Sol flasher in and focused on the right park/directional socket since it...
Tom, I had never heard of "backfeeding"...when it gets dark tonight I'm going to turn on the dash lights and see if that does happen and report back. The reading of 4.5 was as high as my voltmeter...
Had some time to get out to the garage (which is a little more comfortable now that it's not below zero) and ran an experiment. I had previously gone through all of the bulb fixtures, even the dash...
Second part to this question is, what would be red and what would be beige? The car has a "25" paint code, which is Carlsbad Black on the roof and Apache Red on the body. This is how it looks...
I have a question about a trim option...I was researching my data tag's info and noticed 83 as the trim option, which is apparently "Light Beige Nylon Pattern Cloth with Red Leather Bolster". Does...
Tom, I'm with you 100% on that. But honestly the best results are coming from the cheap Taiwan 535 flasher...it just doesn't flash the dash indicators or click (well, barely audible clicks) but runs...
Ran a jumper wire from the front signal/park light socket to the negative terminal of the battery...no improvement. The bulbs were GE 1154, which is 21CP for the flasher and 3CP for the park lights....
That is my go-to fix for most every electrical problem on these cars...6V is just completely intolerant of poor grounding. I'll try grounding the signal lamp directly to the negative battery...
Went out to the garage with a voltmeter...plenty of voltage at the directional/park light sockets during operation. With the cheapie flasher, zero voltage to either dash indicator light (socket...
Having a strange issue with my '52 directionals...the directionals, be it right or left, will work correctly for a 2-3 seconds. The front/rear lights flash, the direction arrow in the dash will...
Thanks for the replies...I had figured the cold weather (well below freezing since I've owned the car) might be a factor, although the window closest to the pump operates at a reasonable speed. But...
I am working on a '52 Roadmaster hardtop with the Hydro-Lectric system for the windows and bench seat. The 2 rear windows and driver's side window are really sluggish, although the temp in my garage...
Got a 1952 Roadmaster 76R with a few minor issues...the doors are very straight, but both doors require quite a bit of pressure on the door handle button before they unlatch. The passenger side...
John Erb is THE go-to guy for these units. Keep in mind that some VS57 units were set fairly low from the factory (The Kaiser ones especially) as compared to others. The 263 is a perfect size for...
I have no information at all regarding that install, which I think was on a '42 Special if I recall correctly. The post you're replying to is pretty old man ha ha...my car got damaged in Hurricane...
The first problem you might run into is, I think 1946 engines mounted at the front, whereas the 1952 engines mounted in the middle. So your frame won't have the "towers" to drop the engine brackets...
Not 100% sure which one it was, but either CARS Inc. or Bob's Automobilia used to offer a fuel pump delete plate for Buick straight eights. Not a very fancy one though. A finned aluminum job would...
Yeah I did man, thanks for being a stand-up guy. Only problem is...it's about an inch too long. So I guess maybe the air cleaner for the smaller engines was a little different than the 320 as far...
