We used an M21 behind our 320 buy machining the stock manual bell housing. Worked GREAT!!! Ended up with 385HP to the rear wheels with a 500 2bbl. Holley that was modded to flow close to 600. This...
Hopefully the battery has been dis-connected.
That piston is part of the booster. You need to get a shop manual. Will save tons of time in learning & possibly destroying something in the process.
Why so far forward in the chassis?? Would think that wouldn't be so good for handling. On the 320 installed in a stock car we made a "slant 8" in the mid 60's but to the left to put MORE weight on...
1952 would be 6 volt & have a negative ground.
I have 2/'57's I'm parting out if you may need anything, EXCEPT rear bumper ends. One is a '57 Special 4dr. hdtp. & the other is a '57 Estate Wagon 4dr. sedan type.
ALL DynaFlow's had a switch-pitch feature starting in '55 & of course ended in '63. The 1st. yr. TH400/'64 WAS NOT switch-pitch. That started in '65 & lasted until '67.

Just DON'T do L-D with foot to floor & you should be fine.

You can send one of those used pumps to Tony from "The Flying Dutchman" in Oregon. Look him up. He does a QUALITY job on rebuilding.

Won't be an easy swap as it is SO much wider than the "Nail", & very much heavier. I will assume there will be many clearance issue problems.
Just my thoughts.

All you have to do is pull up on the rubber that gets depressed when you stick the nozzle in the tank.
The 7J is out of a '63 Riv. The other numbers are the original VIN of the donor car. JT is a '63/401. Since your Riv. has a TH400 trans. & the '63 Riv. had a DynaFlow IF the adapter was not used on...
I just got through doing a 401, complete engine. Bored to 4.215, with intake & exhaust manifolds, one of my "Mini-Starters", alt, belt, hoses, brackets to have a complete running engine on an engine...
year make & model????
Send your original out to get rebuilt, then you KNOW it will fit & function as intended.
One of the things I KNOW that formulation has been changed is the MOA. It doesn't have as much ZDDP in it today as it had. I still stand behind ANY BG PRODUCT MADE. Since the 44K came out way back...
IF the storage area is in a damp location put some grease on the convertible top piston rods, which will be in their extended position, when the top is up. This helps to keep the rods from rusting &...
Look for the two letter code on the front of the engine in front of the valley cover on the right (passenger) side. Should be an MW or MX if a '66 Riv. GS late production.
Buick is OVERHEAD valve & Pontiac is a FLATHEAD. Very few if any parts exchange on engines.

I have them in stock Paul.

1st. check to make SURE your old uppers are worn out. DON'T just replace them for the heck of it. Inferior parts are abundant today & may wear out long before the old/original ones do. IF they do...
When I re-freshed the engine on my dad's '72 Skylark, he was the original owner & the engine was NEVER apart by ANYONE, I had the same problem. The 1st. assembly I installed was #2. Torqued down &...
ALL DynaFlows have a tendency to leak while sitting & not being used. Once you start to drive it the leaking will usually stop. I have & continue to use a pint of Dot3 brake fluid. It helps to swell...
