Sounds like the A/C oculd have leaked down. They have a low pressure switch which will keep the compressor from engaging if the pressure is to low. This is to prevent damage. So check you a/c charge....

The 4BBL was an option on any turbocharged Regal in 78 and a few years after as well. You could order the turbocharged Regal 3.8 with either a 2BBL or with a 4BBL.:shield:
