Another run against a '68 Mustang with original 289 4V and auto goes also , on 1/8 mile ,with one nose ahead to me.

The size of the "pivot bearing" is
30 mm outer dia
Shaft 16 mm dia
One pivot is 30 mm, the other 45 mm long.
Seal size is outer dia 36.5 mm ( 1 7/16")
inner dia 16 mm( or in my case 15.75 mm)...

Ive not experiences witj babbit type Bearings but i would look for fine similar running marks in bearings and crankjournals also on cylinders and pistons for eventually...
After that 300 mile trip my waterpump starts to leak...(damn !.,now after the big winter job)
know i have disassembled it and fix it with a new bearing (its metric size ) and a double ply modern...

i had the same while completing with one lower compression ring.
My luck was rhats they are for BMW, next day i had hold a new in my hand.
I thight it with a socket wrench and a extension on it by hand only to "max handthight".

look at ebay for a complete compound carburetion sytem from a 41-42 Buick with the small 248 engine, that will match without problems on the 263 .
