Bob, I suspect .175 is OK. An easy way to gain a small amount of compression. I did mine .020 and the block the same. Bored .125. Then sprung for aftermarket pistons for a compression increase to...
Only a small area directly beneath the carb.

I know well those AZ temps. Not quite as bad here in TX. I have my pump mounted on the outside of the frame rail and there is a return line.
No vapor lock is the main reason for me , too. Plus...
Well while mine is a LITTLE different, I like my EFI. I have 1950 Straight Eight. Changed to EFI 7 years and 15000 miles go. Was it worth it? Not financially. Never save the money. But...
I don't believe FITech requires an intank pump. My TBI does not. Just an in line pump. 12,000 + miles on the rascal.
Ben
Welcome!
Beautiful Super. Those plugs wii not hurt a thing. Go for it.

I mounted the compressor on the original generator bracket. A couple of spacers to line the inner groove of the double groove pulley with the crank and water pump pulley. Mounted the alternator on...
Bob is right on payback. BUT! EFI has many other pluses. Absolutely no more "vapor lock". Starts each and every time. The ECM can control the ignition timing. Always spot on.
I have EFI on...
OKAY!!
Don't dawdle too long. I am getting old, you know, and I NEED to see it go.
Ben
Fantastic!
What engine module are you using? What EFI ? I am using an original GM 7 pin, with distributor modified with HEI magnetic pu inside, controlled from the GM [ 1990 Chevy PU] ECM. ...
Sounds like a good project. Please keep is informed.
Ben
That is my take, as well.
Ben
Use a 1 wire and NO regulator needed.
Ben
Wow, I want to see that! Have always wanted to do same. Any pictures?
Ben
Feed it. It's hungry. Clean the entire fuel system.

First thing I would be checking is GROUNDS. If fuses and /or breakers are not burning/opening, I would not suspect a short. Check for dirty grounds.

Welcome to our world. Please fill us in on the racer. We live for pictures.

That 1/8th inch will make no difference. I guarantee, if a Buick dealer installed a .040 engine in a customers car, they would use the same manifolds. Ben
Obviously they removed the rod. Can you tell us what was wrong?
Ben
Frank, Welcome back. Two years!
I finished mine, cracked a cylinder, tore the engine down, sleeved the cyl, reassembled and have driven a couple thousand. Where ya been?:D. Just yanking your...
Dave, you have been given some good advice, both here and on the other sites. And , obviously, not all exactly the same, though similar.
I kind of agree with Willie over on the BCA site. Take a...
Beautiful! Wife not bad, either.:bgrin:
Ben
Do you have a Buick Shop Manual? Cheapest "part" you can buy. Or just go up to references on here and download the 1952 Manual.
It was not too difficult. Pull the entire rear end assembly from...
That is why we are here.
