We have to work on those engines. Jyrki does. The others just write :(
I will TBI.
Now you ve shown too much ..
I suppose anyone here wants to see the rest of the car :)
Why choosing this type of exhaust manifold ? It looks like a Jeep Cherokee, instead of runners as many do....
I bought a 263 with trans, rebuild in 1995 for 800 $
i know a 248 for sale for 150 $, but it s 400 miles away
In both case it s not a lot of money if we really want it.
I have a 350 Olds 79 with this part on the air cleaner.
It is a replacement parts according to the manual, a # must be easy to find.
But hiding this exhaust would be a shame :(
Is there no risk breaking the block itself ? Those engines are so long and heavy ..
I have a stand like this, I don t dare installing the engine on it :(
Of course.
But running 2 external pipes for the coolant may be easy.
Maybe we would need a turbine, like VW or Porsche. Quite ugly.
I had a stupid idea ...
It seems that one of the main difficulty to design a brand new aluminium head is creating the water jackets for the pattern.
So ... What about an air cooled head ? :)
I really wonder how the combustion chambers will be made ..
CNC ? Or still using basic tools ? :)
That s crazy :)
Anyone should also have a look on the other videos.
It look so simple, why didn t anyone do this before ? ...
Let s check ... I have a press drill, magnet letters for the kids,...
Bolts would have to be really long to avoid the engine turning ..
I can be wrong, but I think the trans to bell housing alignment is done because the trans goes inside the bell housing. I m not 100...
I had this pb twice on other engines. In both cases it was between engine and trans ... Too long nut, or incorrect building.
I d have a look at the flywheel.
An engine stuck by rust make no noise when it comes to the "stuck point". It s quite progressive.
An engine stuck by a bolt or something touching the flywheel will make a "clonk" noise when 2 parts...
I have a Carter WCD on my Rambler, and never had any pb with it :P
Just frozen once ....
Quite a pb when you are on the highway.
This costed me a muffler :P

I have changed the broken membran on a AMC 232 engine, with a piece of soft plastic fuel resistant I had.
They are basic mechanical pump, like the Buick one.

It seems some have the vacuum part for the wipers, and sone have not.
My 1951 has the vacuum side. But it s a strane model .
Canadian models were noţ build like the US .
Where do you find the # numbers ?
Mqybe it s because it s a canadian, but I ve never seen any stamped number part usefull .It took me 2 years to know which year my 263 was from :P
I ve never sure about this kind of improvement. It s just a kind of physic.
The goal of a water pump is to make the fluid travel trought the engine and radiator.
It s just a thermal exchange ( I...

Who s the boss now ?
As the impeller was dead, I ve cutted it with grinder / die grinder to remove it.
It seems the main pb was the rust between the impeller and the axle. They were quite welded...
The hub as already been removed. In fact it was quite easy, even with the few tools I have at home.
I know the tool on the link, I used it everyday at work.
The pb is really the impeller is stuck....
