Just curious if anyone has ever used them and what they thought. From what I hear, they make a quality product, but Ive never really heard any Buick guys talk about them.

Thanks for the reply. I knew it would physically fit in, but I didnt know what else was different. Sounds like it should go in fine.
Ive been looking for a good core support for my 70. Found one somewhat locally, but its from a 72. Ive heard there are some differences. Just checking to see if this will work for me. Thanks in...
That opening is the heat riser for sure. I wish i could help you more with the gasket question. Im just starting to learn these engines myself.
Im guessing the opening your talking about are the heat exchangers in the heads. It is my understanding that they are mainly just for warming the intake manifold for choke operation. I know if you...
I did some testing today and the converter works. I wired it up to a 3 way toggle switch. 1 way keeps in it high stall, the other way high stall with your foot on the brake, or the middle position...
Hey Ray. You were right about the one switch being left out when the transmission was swapped in. The only thing controlling the switch pitch at the moment is the one switch on the carb linkage that...
Ok well some good news is I pulled the tranny pan, and found a piece of trash somewhat blocking my fluid pickup. I changed the filter and refilled with fresh fluid and the tranny seems fine. No more...
Ray, thanks for the reply. Im pretty certain the transmission in my car is a switch pitch tranny. I dont however believe that it works. I have a solenoid on my throttle linkage by the carb, that has...
Well it seems something has come apart in my transmission. Im getting a whine that changes with RPM, some slipping and weird shifting. My guess is something is bad in the converter or the pump....
Paul, sounds like a good plan here. I guess the B4B and a set of headers would be good bolt ons to start with, and will support my future endeavors. Thanks again for all the help
Wow! I have mine listed for $100.00!
Paul thanks again. I just bought a book on high performance Buicks, and maybe I can learn a few things. Since my car will mainly be street driven, and very little, if ever any track time, and most...
Thanks for replies guys. Looks like I should start searching out a replacement. I have had that O type for a while, and cant give away here locally. I would have thought I could have sold it easier....
Thanks for the reply. I have an open rear so Im in the market to change that. My car has a bone stock 430 in it, but im looking to start adding some go fast parts to it. Street abuse for the most...
Ive been trying to find out for sure what rear my car has. It seems that it should be an 8.2 for a 70. Im pretty sure it hasnt been changed. Mine is a 10 bolt, 2 cut outs on the side of the cover,...
Paul, thanks for the insight, It sure sounds like you have messed with a few Buicks! I think Im going to seriously look into some aftermarket parts to help hold me over for the time being. This...
Learn something new everyday! Thats a good idea, and the way ill be going. Thanks for the help.
Hey guys. Im deleting the AC on my 70 Skylark. Im in need of a non AC heater box. Would a box from a 70-72 Cutlass be the same? I would assume so, but im not sure. I may have found one locally. ...
Unfortunately the 455 was seized up. The guy failed to mention that to me. He wasnt too interested on coming down on the price, so needless to say it still sets there. Looks like I may be sticking...
Wow I bet that runs!
Sounds like that engine would be alot of fun. Im looking as possibly buying a 455 I found locally, and building that, and swap out the 430. Maybe it would be worth a few bucks to someone.
So it looks like HEI is out with the stock air cleaner. What about MSD or other distributors without coils?
Will pretty much any HEI fit under the stock GS air cleaner?
Yep its a 430. At least that is what the previous owner told me. Apparently that is what he found when he was ready to make the swap.
