My new thermostat was bad. Put in a new 180 and the temp is stable. Only jumps about 5 to 10 degrees at idle but stays below 200. I'm happy with that.
Thanks for your help.
Sorry for this post but I am at a loss. I am sure you all are tired of overheating issues.
My temp gauge shoots up to 230 degrees at idle and back down just as quick when I rev to 2500 rpms in...
Sent my oil off to have it analyzed and found coolent in the oil. I noticed coolent on my garage floor but couldn't quite make out where the leak was coming from. Did a pressure test on the cooling...
How about the rear.
I have not had heat in my car for a few years and am now attempting to solve the problem. My vacuum control module on the blower motor is busted. Tried to repair it but the repair didn't work. My car...
Had work done there on my GS about 6 years ago. Charged double the estimate. Didn't tighten the ujoints in the rear end and broke the rear end. Put a holley carb on and now I can't use my star wars...
No update. Haven't installed them yet. Working on a high heat/temp issue. May have to post on that later if I can't figure it out.
Okay I understand now. I'll let you know how I do. Thanks.

What i am trying to figure out is where does the square end of the rod go. Does the short open side go into the hook pf the swinging link or does the closed side go into the link? I can't tell from...
So it could be missing those floating/swinging hinges located on the outside of the trunk hinges on both sides. Thoughts?
I won't go into why I am running a Holley but it is what it is. I have a heavy gas smell all the time and at startup I have black smoke out of the exhaust actually staining my driveway with soot. It...
This is the left side of the trunk. 1st pic is of the inner side of the left hinge and that looks the same. The 2nd pic is of the outter side of the left hinge and you can see an additional...
Are these pics of your 67 GS? My trunk hinges are different.
So I used the new timing cover and with about 100 miles on the car all seems well. I think I have some air trapped in the cooling system cause my temp gauge will rise to 230 for a few seconds then...
Finally found a set of replacement torsion rods for my car. Now I have no idea how to install them. Does anyone have illustrations or pictures you a 67 trunk so I may install without breaking them...
Does anyone have pictures of the rope seal and the way it fits into the groove of the round metal piece and then into the timing cover? Something just doesn't look right on mine and I am worried i...
Didn't know you can add usb ports to a old stock radio. Worth checking out. My current stock radio was converted to fm in the 90's but I need to figure out if it still works. Thanks.
I began working on my interior and started playing around with some ideas. I made a little enclousure for my aftermarket radio which I don't like. Gotta change that out. I am also working on getting...
I did have a plate on the oil pump. I have heard of external oil pumps but never a plate to make a high vomume oil pump. Too bad I didn't know that a few years ago when I pulled the motor to freshen...
Could be Steve. I will check. I only see the piece on the timing cover and the one piece that the oil filter connects to but great thought.
Seems the proform timing cover is the correct cover for my car and the old one I removed is the wrong cover. How did I figure that out? About 10 years ago i got a oil pump rebuild kit from napa. It...
What I encountered was the gears that came out of my original cover did not fit the proform cover because of two things:
1. The shaft of the the gear that is driven by the distributor is to large...
The timing cover fits like a glove when I dry fit but the stock oil pump gears don't fit. This timing cover is useless unless I can find smaller oil pump gears. I may have to bite the bullet and put...
