The intakes for the 400/430/455 we have on record are in the reference section under Buick Engine Identification.

How about a bad ground. Clean the battery cables at both ends! If the starter relay is getting a signal, that should get it turning. Then make sure the S terminal on the relay is getting a signal...
Welcome, glad Gramma is OK:) Gramma cars can be mighty nice survivors. It's always nice to have someone hangin' around with some knowledgeable input!
It looks like it is time to move away from the VB4 forum format.:(
It would have been nice if Vbulletin looked like the way to progress, but it just does not. Xenforo seems to be the forum of the...

I was told that as a rule of thumb survival rate is about 10%. If the car isn't a rust bucket, I would be dragging it home, I'd probably drag it home anyway, especially if the engine was not seized...
I build quite a few driveshafts and thought I would share a simple jig which helps with the welding.
This assumes you have a lathe to cut the drive shaft you wish to assemble.

Rochester is about 5" and the Carter is about 4.25"
They should be the same.
Having said that there are more than one yoke for the 400.

According to Hollander, the part number is 5047718 and is only used in the '53 to 55 Buick. It does not mention the under seat heater. It says a universal replacement number 5044402 will work.
Usually a heater leak smells of sweet anti-freeze.
I don't have a '65 hood here to look at, but I don't see why it would be a problem. The scoops were never offered on the '65, so if their location is not right, what does it matter? If they look...

Something I have found that really helps the life expectancy of batteries that are not in regular use is to keep a battery maintainer on them. Preferably one with a "desulphator" feature.
