I would say carburetor gets flooded; Dirt can cause the needle to get stuck! A good clean up job can be useful in any case.

Not just that, the holes where the 455 mounts will go in are not an exact fit as the 1982 regal with a 231 v6! I suppose new holes must be drilled.:confused:
practically any Engine would go in any car! but its always a problem with the mountains! you will have to make new holes in the chassis so you can mount the new odd engine and box, then you cant...
Ok, get an original engine and box from a scrap yard, you'll be better of:confused:

Are you using the old exhaust? Check your exhaust system. with time and bad engines, mufflers can get clogged with oil and dirt! then flew becomes uneasy; this can cause pressure to build up inside...
