The re-build on the master cylinder/ booster for my 54 Special 40 turns out to be very expensive (I'm hearing possibly well over $500!!) . Since my car is a mild custom and I don't care about keeping...
After an interesting drive up 1-93 where I lost the brakes in my 54 Special today I have pretty much determined that the master cylinder is shot..Any advise on a simple upgrade? I'd rather improve...
Sorry if this has been covered before. But, the brake lights on my 54 Special stopped working. All 4 tail lights work, and the fuse is fine(which is the only troubleshoot the manual addresses)..Any...
Nice work , Gunter. Veeerryyyyyyyyy nice. Next time anyone tries to tell me 4 doors aren't cool, I have yet another place to refer 'em to.. Could you please tell us about the suspension you are...
Gorgeous!!!! Outstanding:hurray:
I have a 54 Special 254 Nailhead and I'm running the same filter as Low Blow Joe. I get 'em at Autozone and it fits right on my wee Carter 2bbl.
PS Gunnie That's a sharp lookin' car ya got...
Does any one know if 56 Special bumpers fit on a 54?
Man , oh man that's a gorgeous car. I dunno about a price but I would guess at least 15- 20K if she's in good shape.

Sorry if this has been covered before . But , I have a pretty bad leak that seems to be coming from between the transmission case and the rear bearing retainer . I can't tell exactly cause my car...
That's a really cool car, but the dummy spots are driving me nuts:clonk:
That 53 is a beautiful car as she sits.( But, if it were mine I'd chop and slam it anyway:bana:) Anyhoo , for pre-cut coil springs and spindles try Jamco. I've heard nothing but good things about...
Close , but no cigar. They line up perfectly. But the mounting screws need to go in at an approx 45 degree angle. On the Chevy lenses they are at 90 degrees. I think I might be able to modify them...
Those look pretty darn close (see pic) .I ordered a pair( to start with) of the 56 Chevys from koolrides* and will let you know if they work out. (They were about 10 bucks apiece)
* Nice and...
Does anyone know what tail light lenses will fit on a 54 Special? I want to put on Blue Dots and from what I can tell these 56 Chevy lenses from Koolrides.com look really close. Has anyone done...
I found these over on the H.A.M.B. Kinda cool..

Has anyone seen (or have pics of) GOOD chops of 54 or 55s? I dunno if it's possible with all the curved glass and am curious if anyone has been able to add to the roofs lines , not destroy them.
What a magnificent job. You have done spectacular work. I love a righteous chop and have no doubt you are capable. But the car looks and sits really nice just the way it is too..Gorgeous car!
$2.99 regular today at the Gulf station near my house in Stoneham, Ma.
25 Degrees out and I'm rolling in my Jeep. Grrrrrrrrr!
I saw this car :jeez:last weekend, and lemme just say Rebecca is no joke and her work is really. really good. This project is going to be a 1st class restoration. ( even thogh I keep bugging her to...
I dunno Tyler...But My speedo runs smoothly but reads about 7- 10 MPH faster than my real speed. I don't really care , other than the odometer rackin' up miles faster that is accurate.
Try Autozone. I got one for my 54 there for 12 bucks last year, narrowly avoiding paying 85 clams for one on ebay:clonk:
Hey Rebecca:thumbsup: Glad to see you here. For what it's worth my suspension is a little sketchy going over bumps too. Praise the lowered!
Same deal here. I have heated and smashed springs and the stance looks good, but the ride can be sketchy. Are any of y'all
running Jamco cut coils? If so what cut and how's it working out?
I...
