Decided to forego the stippling to match existing, just cut heavy cardboard, painted all 3 side flat black. Not show quality, but not bad either. Better than raw metal and wires everywhere.

Thanks Ron and Todd for the info. I'm trying to match the original cardboard pattern and texture. The trunk bottom and passenger side panel are both in good condition, but the driver's side panel...
Anybody know where I could find driver's side cardboard trunk panel? Tried all the usual Buick parts houses.
Hello, Have a 53 Super, all original. I'm not a mechanic, just a driver. I love that car; I try to keep it up, but have serious financial limitations. I just spent $700 for brakes recently, ...
Hey, Thanks Ron. Just some great advice I was looking for. I'll try an auto upholstery place I know that did some work years ago. Logan
This may be the dumbest question of the year, but I'll ask anyway, 1953 Suoer. I'm replacing a part of the front carpet - driver's side got wet and moldy/rotten. When I cut it out and pulled it...
Hey Tom, You're a genius! Got it out. Now, if you wanna come to Calif. and help me re-upholster it, I'll buy you a beer! L Hop
Can anyone give me some hints / instructions on removing the rear seat back (not where your butt goes, where your back goes). There are two clips on the bottom corners that are easy, but beyond...
I need some bumper chroming, basic (not show) quality. San Francisco area prices are getting outrageous. Everyone just quotes from a manual of some sort, no competition. I'm wanting to pay a fair...
Hopefully, one of you body repair gurus can help me.
I have a 53 Super, good condition, your basic "10-footer". That's all I want it to be. I have 3 other classics and they are all the same -...
On a '53 (probably the same for most others), there is a little U-shaped metal clip that holds the handle to the spindle. Is there any trick to getting the handles off so you can take off the...
Thanks Brian,
I actually took what I perceived to be your advice (sorta) and left my '53 at an Oakland shop today. I deciced to do it in small pieces. They are going to do only the left front...
I appreciate the info on the bumper. It sounded a little fishy to me too. I noticed you're in Fremont, I am also in the Bay Area. I assume you don't do this type of work, or have no interest,...
I had already read MARTINSR's discussions of body shops - that's one thing that made me join the forum - it was very helpful. In fact, I'm considering what I think was a recommendation from that...
Hello, I'm new to the forum, and am not even sure how it works. I recently bought a 53 Buick Super 4-door. Runs great, just had brakes done.
My main project is the front body. Both front...
