There's a terminal strip with a lot of screws showing on top of each inner fender. The lowest screw down grounds the lights.
Very comon.
Nothing else fits. I'm not sure if a 4 barel manifold from '64 even works. '65 went to cast iron heads and the intake port flange angle is in question.
First - Thanks for going to Iraq. If it ran the the pump is not priming or you should check it with a mechanical guage. I had left my pressure sender off when doing a compression check and oil came...
You must have both for even acceleration. At idle remove the vacuum line from the distributor and quickly put your finger over the end. It should speed up and slow down as lift your finger. Turn it...
I have a '61 215 Olds and '64 Skylark 300 both have silver motors.
We all need the parts your talking about. The best book is GM's BUICK master parts list of chassis parts. Always over $100 then BUICK's Shop Manual. Motor Manuals from the 50's are good for all cars....
It's off now but I've done Olds and Buick 215's and 300's his way. Most of the meat is striped out anyway. Be sure to use full length 44FFS plugs or you'll be doing it some more.
Did your guys line bore or just fit the bearings?
Might not be getting oil to the rockers.
I still see one or two rods on Ebay. Are you going to pull the crank?
We as a breed have to figure out these computer control systems or there's not going to be a sport of newer Buicks. More junk yard time with adaptation of common GM parts is needed. It's hard enough...
You need a down loading tool to check the DTC codes. Might be the computer not turning on the injectors.
Most '40-'53 temp gauges are similar and can be reworked to use your pointer and gauge face. You have to take the whole thing apart anyway.
The idler could be tired. Should have very little play. No need to go in twice.
You can get in a real jam with these new cars. Everything is sooow tite you may not want to do this. First buy the part at your frendly GM store. The book shows idler and bracket and determin if you...
The normal lubrication is heavy grease heavyer than 120. I'll bet it got a shot of ATF.
50 series 126xxxx 230 ci. 60 series 127xxxx 272 ci. These are both relitively small displacement and not nifty by them selves unless you had the car.
The block number is not listed in my 1942 master parts book. Could have been superceded or maybe a bus. Other 128xxxx PN's seem to indicate a 50 series.
I found more production numbers but not official Buick, some magazine.
All '41 including exports 51C 508
All '41 including exports 56c 12391
My official production sheet from '41 July has the...
Before you tear it down do a compression test for us to see where your starting from.
I only have the figures for May, June and July. 51C Flint only M 57, J 41, J 23. 56C Flint only M 1566, J 1700, J 833.
If you have a Mod 44 some Chevrolet stuff fits.
I got one off Ebay discribed as off a 350. It has 166 tooth starter gear and external ballance boss. Don
