Holy cripes. I couldn't open any of the pics/graphs but it was apparent you didn't skimp. Good on ya and thanks for a wealth of information:thumbsup:.
I've been playing pm/phone tag with Tom as...
That looks like the ticket....but do you know what the difference in spacing is on thw Weiand and a production cast iron manifold, if any?. I guess I can shorten rods or make longer one's if...
Thanks guys. 2 - 650's it is.
Any preference on linkage?. I see Offy and Edelbrock both have a "universal" linkage. Having never had either in my hands I can't tell which would be the best to go...
Has anybody used Edelbrock progressive linkage on their dual quad nail setups?. Are they any good?, do they have good adjustability?.
Also, is using a 650cfm Edelbrock carb for the primary and a...
Is the one you have to sell on the car?. $550 for both. :D
THAT is a nice old new Buick.
I have sent you an e-mail. Thanks for taking the time to post.
It's going on a hot rod so I don't need numbers matching carbs...ideally I just need the manifold.
Thanks
Thanks for your response.
What kind of price should I be looking at for a cast iron intake and two carbs that need to be redone?.
I've seen an intake with two carbs that have been redone for...
Havin' a hell of a time hunting down a dual four barrel cast iron intake. I can get a new Offy from Summit/Jeg's but i've heard they aren't worth a darn. I've found a couple of Eelco's. Are they...
I don't want to hijack the tread but i'm on the hunt for a 2x4 cast iron intake for a 401/425. Anybody that has one that wants to sell it please PM me.
Thanks
You guys got a mention in the latest issue of
HOT ROD D*E*L*U*X. See page 83 where they rebuild a 322 that makes 325hp @5,000rpm and 385lb-ft @3,800rpm.
"the best way to discern what you've...
[quote=30coupe1;63295]Yes i didnt know that was #1.quote]
If you didn't know that was #1 then that is at least part of your problem.
Get #1 up on TDC of the compression stroke then set your...
But my question is from only a picture, how can I be for sure that it's for a 401/425 and not a 322 or a 364?.
Guys
I found an intake manifold on the net that i'm interested in. The problem is that the guy selling it does not know for sure if it's for a 401/425 or if it's for something older. How do I...
I was on the hunt for those myself but could not find any being reproduced. Your best bet is to find some old rocker assemblies at a swap meet, take what you need and refinish them on a fine grinding...
Tom, intuitively you'd think that would be the case...but I can tell you for a fact that a non w/c T5 that is well worn will indeed take the abuse of a nail assuming you are not swapping it in a dump...
hud
THAT is tooooo cool. What are you using for a transmission?
Crank the engine with the starter motor or by hand?. I've never thought of that but that sounds like a good idea.
Good deal. Maybe we'll bump into you up at the swap meet. And thanks for your help again.
Tom & Joe, being you've both built a nail or two, what's a good fresh startup/break-in procedure for a 401ski. Today we threw the new 401 back in the hole, got what little that need be hooked...
Thanks to Theoldguy my rocker insert situation has been resolved. What a cool guy with some way cool stuff. Thanks Joe.
With all the "Rat Rods" out there, i'm suprised i'm the only one that has asked this question.
Yeah, i've bent his ear on a couple of occasions. Thanks
He's got to be getting tired of answering my questions. Will do though. Thanks.
More questions guys.
Those little press in inserts in the end of the rocker arms....where in the hell do I get a set or two...or three???. I've searched the world over (via the interweb) and i'm...
