Hi, I am decoding a body plate and I need to know what the KAN build plant is, what 8711 means after the build date, and the option codes E and C are. Thank you.

KAN = Kansas City, MO
The number following the build date is the batch or sequence number, it is also found on the build sheet. (0501 on the attached trim tag, 8711 on yours).
Since you didn't list the Group numbers for the option codes, they can't be determined without a picture of the trim tag, but the most common are shown below.
Assuming Group 1:
E = Tinted glass (all windows)
Assuming Group 2:
C = Custom padded seat cushions
Assuming Group 3:
C = Padded dash
Assuming Group 4:
C = exterior belt reveal molding
Thanks, is that cowl tag on your car? My car is pretty similar. My car is not a gs, but it is blue mist upper and lower. It originally had a white top but now is all blue mist with the same light fawn interior and seat. Thank yiu
The tag is not from my car, just one from my picture collection.
Do you have any more?? I am trying to get better at decoding. Thank you
Here are a few...
Thank you. Out of that there were two codes that I did not have 1st group code “F” and 4th group “G”
The group 4 code is actually a C. Here is a list of some others:
