Does it have hydraulic lifters? In any event, go to "References" at top of this page. There is a 1952, I believe, Shop Manual there. All you will need to know should be found there. After reading that, if questions remain come on back for answers.
Good luck

Thank you Bent. In matter of fact, I have the original printed version of this manual (itīs old and greasy but good enough to read). I looked to it, but couldnīt find a clear reference to these valves clearance. My car has hydraulic lifters. Maybe because some language misunterpretation I couldnt see it ( english is not my native language).
OK, here is the procedure.
Turn the engine until BOTH valves on a cylinder are closed. Loosen the rocker arm adjuster until the arm can me rocked up and down. Now, tighten the adjuster until the arm just touches the valve stem. There should be no rocker arm "rock". NOW turn the adjuster 1 1/2 turn more. This preloads the hydraulic lifter. Do this for each cylinder. This information is in the 1950 Shop Manual in the section on the hydraulic lifters, I believe.
Let me know if this is not clear.
Good luck
Ben

Look at page 47 of the '52 manual. It is described there.
Ben
hydraulic lifters are self adjusting.
you can't find a "clearance spec" because there isn't one. that's a spec that's needed for solid lifters.
