Spider caps
Could someone please tell me if a set of spider caps will fit on my stock steel wheels of my 1953 Buick Special?
I know the bolt pattern is 5x5, but the buicks have bolts instead of lug nuts!?
Can I run spider caps on my wheels even though my car has Bolts?
Also, will the chrome lug nut caps fit over my bolts?
Thanks.... Chris

Is the cap flange supposed to go under the nuts? If yes, the rears should be fine. Not sure about the fronts, because the Buick hubs stick out pretty far. It would depend on how deep your caps are. If you run into any interference with the wheel locating pin, just remove the pin (it unscrews).
The normal type of chrome lug nut covers will work with the Buick bolts. I believe the hex size is 13/16", but you might want to measure one of the bolt heads to be certain.

Thanks Ray. I'm not sure how they work exactly. I've seen them on plenty of cars, thought I might buy a set for mine. Yeah, the hub does stick out pretty far. I think the cones on the spider caps are pretty standard, I think they are about 3 inches deep?
Also, thanks for the tip about the pins.. never knew they unscrewed?
Hmm, I might buy a set and see what happens.......
Thanks again!!
