I have a question regarding the valley pan on my ‘68 430, does the pan also serve as the intake manifold gasket? Any tips on installing would be appreciated, thanks

Check the procedure in the 67 Chassis Service Manual we have in reference section on this site. It will be the same for a 67-69 430.
My book doesn’t show a valley pan just a intake with gaskets on each end of block and ports.
i believe the big blocks came from the factory with a sheet metal intake gasket that also functioned as a splash guard for the bottom of the intake.
the 71 manual refers to it as the "one piece intake gasket" and you can see it in the front and rear cutaway views of the engine at the end of the 60th chapter.
what you are referring to as "gaskets on each end of block and ports" the chassis manual calls "rubber manifold seals" and the one piece gasket is placed in addition to the seals.
pg 60-59 with figure 60-73 and pg 60-91 with figure 60-120.
