Door Chrome trim
Anybody have any luck getting the trim off the front and rear doors? I'm not talking about the chrome pieces in the middle of each door. Those were quite easy, but the top piece and the piece that lines the opening of the window. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,

At least in the 40's Buicks, the beltline molding must be gently pried off with a putty knife or similar flat blade. The retainer is usually completely rusted out. I made new retainers out of stainless. Look here:

The window molding is tapped in place if I remember correctly. There might be tiny screws hidden behind the glass channels. Anyway, everything must be removed prior - the window and it's channels, everything. The moldings are made of thin brass, and could be distorted easily. You'd really should get yourself a shop manual - this is where it pays off
