what is the right width whitewall for my 1966 Buick Electra

Manual says 8.85" x 15", which translates to just less than 225 tread width. guy on V8 said he was running 235/75-15.

I think he wants the width of the white on the sidewall, not the width of the tread. Maybe Coker Tire or other suppliers have that information.

5/8" to 1" are correct for a car of that vintage. Please don't use 1940's style wide whites. There should be a law against that on newer vintage cars.
