I love my car. I have a 62 skylark black/white top v8 numbers matching beauty. I recently got hit by some Asian lady in a Honda Civic. Before this I have gone through the entire cars mechanical, and she was running perfect. It took time, and money, and love. Now, I was lucky to buy a parts car for a great price and have everything I need besides the radiator and a new battery. I just feel burnt out. My health sucks, and I dunno if I have time to Finish this mutha. What should I do? What would you do?

Well, here is my 2 cents worth.
Health problems are frustrating and overwhelming. But everyday, you can find examples of people doing amazing things.
Be positive. You take control of your life.
Don't let the car sit. create small goals for each week, and make sure you get it accomplished. The total project seems overwhelming, but maybe the week, you pull a fender and BOOM! Goal accomplished. When you are back cruising down the road, you will be smiling and proud of what you did.

Hope this helps.

how much are you going to regret this if you let it go?

do you have children or grandchildren to bequeath it too?

i certainly wouldn't impoverish myself for a car resto, but if you can create memories with your family while working on it ...

Just depends on how you like spending your time. If you like working at this type of project, it can make you feel better/normal doing it. If it is not fun or enjoyable, then it can be a drain on your being. Keep in the first case and sell in the second.

Hold On ....

Give yourself some time - you do not have to enslaved to rebuild your car, just break the chore into smaller parts as has been mentioned and do each, one at a time. Just give yourself 15 minutes a day top work on it and enjoy the process. You are re-saving this one for future generations - just take it one step, one 15 minute segment, and one day at a time .... I doubt you will be disappointed no matter how much you do or don't do.

Thank you, Sir. I wanted to thank you for your advice.

You see, I hadn't realized it, but since my father died a couple of months ago I haven't been really advised about, or to do so about anything at all. Most of my family beyond my brother and I are not to near us. She they're not around. Some simple, straight forward advice was exactly what I needed. It's true too what you said about people doing amazing things everyday. I have done a lot of amazing things, and I might have a couple more in store. sincerely, Ras1

YOU NEED SOMETHING TO DO TO KEEP YOUR MIND OCCUPIED!!!! Embarking on the en-devour at hand is one of the best ways to accomplish this. Even tho automobiles are my profession they are also my hobby. So I'm involved 24/7. Where would you be if you had NOTHING to do??? Would you be in better health??? If you are an active individual you will get bored & will look for SOMETHING to do. Many, especially a good friend of mine, use automobiles for therapy to keep their minds off of more pressing issues. My friend was given 6-9 months & wholly because of his Hot Rod was around for close to 5 additional years. It ALL had to do with his love for this auto. The nice thing is if your not feeling well on a particular day & let Bessie sit for an untold amount of time she will still be there & won't tell you she doesn't love you or get jealous & say your spending too much time with such & such. Then when you stick the key in the ignition & she comes to life alone will put a smile on your face & is good for your well being.
Just my thoughts. For me if it doesn't have something to do with gears/greaese/gas & guts I'm NOT INTERESTED.
