Can anyone help me with safe jack points along the sides if i need to change a punctured tire on the road? Front and rear spots please. It's an Skylark custom 1970. I don't have the original jack, i have one like the image here. Thanks in advance.jack.jpg

That type of jack should be used anywhere on the frame. It could also be used under the rear differential axle housings, or on the front lower A-frames. If you try to use it on the bumper it could curl the underside.
You should watch for an original style at yard sales or on ebay. CLICK HERE!

OK thanks for the answer. So I'll be safe anywere on the frame between front and rear wheels?

I got a similar one that was factory out of a vehicle at junkyard and not a Chinese(possible failure prone) aftermarket. I have given up on getting an original, because of the weight difference and space. I would suggest to use a piece of wood between the jack and your chassis because it may cause a dent. The jack by itself will dent the chassis in the middle of the boxed frame and not on the sides where it is stronger. Also, stick a piece of wood in front and rear of one of the other tires opposite of the side you lifting because these jacks can tip over if the car moves. So, need 1 jack, 3 pieces of 2"x4."

Alternate solution is to carry a flat tire kit that comes with a reamer, plugs, and use a hand pump or electric air pump to reinflate. No need to remove the wheel/tire unless it has sidewall damage.
