Ridetech Shockwaves

Hello, Has anyone used Ridetechs Shockwaves in their car?
I have a 1966 LeSabre Convertible and I'm considering the change to the Shockwaves for the front, however, I have heard they are not suitable for a heavy V8 car.
So does anyone have any experience with the Ridetech gear. I really don't want to go the whole hydraulic set up and just want to be able to raise the car up a few inches when driving.

Thanks.

Evidently not any air bag users here. I've always been suspect of the things, although they obviously can work well in the rear of some vehicles.

I have used supplemental air in the rear of a few vehicles (overload bags in one, air shocks in a couple others) with good effect. Never touched the front end. I've always been somewhat suspicious of 100% air suspension, if you pop one or lose a hose, you're done. Air backing up springs? That's all I've ever felt safe with-at least if it goes out, you can limp home.

That being said, I have a friend who's run a couple of Grand Marqs over the years with factory 100% rear air suspension, and it's been completely reliable for him. I thought his auto-air-leveling was just airbag boosters for coil springs - nope, it's all air. He has over 300,000 mi on his 96 Merc, and just changed the bags (they were checking) last year. So it obviously CAN work well and be reliable, so...maybe I'm worrying about nothing.

If you do come up with a solution, let us know how it works out. "Low and slow" sure looks cool. Until you try to get somewhere...and find you need to raise the car to cross a speed bump.

As far as the company Ridetech products goes I use Ridetech Coilovers on the front of my 52 Buick Super and they ride and handle great. And you have the option of adjusting ride height manually.

Thanks to all who replied. My car isn't a million dollar car, or factory original.
I'm just looking to have a nice driving car.

Cheers from Sydney.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just had a look at the RideTech site and they don't have a listing for coil-overs for the B body cars.
I might contact them a see if they can help.

I had a bad accident and I had to replace my frame from the firewall forward. I had Fatman build me a new frame and that is how I have a Ride Tech front suspension.

Interesting!
In place of the original OR?

Ben
Yeah, the car's a bit too low at present, so thinking that being able to raise it without going to the extreme of airbags (low-rider style), would be a solution. Ridetechs 'Shockwaves' fit where the original coil/shock combo goes, so a simple swap (I'm hoping).

Ben, I am in Oregon and I believe I met you at the Buick Nationals in Spokane Washington in 2023. I have the maroon 52 Buick Super Estate Wagon (woodie). You drove up from Texas in a 51 Buick if I remember correctly.
