I have a stock '68 AM/FM radio for my 68 Wildcat. As I understand it, the only differance between it and a stereo radio is the addition of an amp installed under the dash. Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks

Stephen

Stephen, I removed an AM/FM Stereo radio from a basket case 68 Riviera a couple of years ago, and I recall it had a seven or eight pin connector between radio and amplifier. I also think the stereo radio was an upgrade from basic AM/FM, since few FM stations broadcast in stereo in 1968, heck, there were probably not many FM stations then either. Therefore, I doubt you can simply add the factory amp to your radio.
