Urgent help needed. I overhauled the engine of my 65 Buick Special. It's a 300 cid V8. Last week when I started the engine for the first time, I noticed that the oil pressure light did not go out. I removed the oil filter and to my surprise there was no oil in it. I immediately ordered a rebuild kit for my oil pump. I mounted this today, but also now no oil pressure, or oil in the filter.
Anyone have an idea what could be the cause? Thanks in advance, greetings Ruud
 
I have found and solved the problem. When reinstalling the oil pump gears, make sure they are fully greased with "Petroleum Jelly". It is clearly described in the "Buick Service Manual". I missed this section when installing the oil pump.
