i've got a problem. none of my dash lights work, that said i got under the dash and found some of tthe bulbs.but theones i found were for the warning lights(i know these work) but i dont know the location of my dash lights. i checked all of the fuses and their all good.car is a 64 special.also how do i remove my speaker for the radio(single dash speaker) i can see it from under the dash but dont know how to get it out. i know the radio works (had it playing about a week after i acquired the car) but thats the only time ive ever heard it and would like to have it back. thanks alot bill
ps the car has the origional radio and speaker

Sometimes the rheostat controlling the brightness of the instrument lights (usually built into the headlight switch) get a bit balky with age. Try rotating the knob back and forth a few times and see if the lights flicker at all. Sometimes they'll only work at full bright (rotated all the way to the left, just before the dome light comes on) which is a problem I solve by leaving them at full bright.....as long as they work, I'ma happy :)

Having never been under the dash of a '64 can't really help with the speaker. Are you sure it's the speaker and not the radio itself? Try disconnecting the speaker wire harness and testing to see if it's getting any voltage....sometimes these old radios just poop out, mine did :(

Edit: A '64 might have a tube-type radio. Anyone know?

Best of luck and hope this helps.

i have tried rotating the headlight switch left and right and got nothing. as for the radio i didnt work when i first got the car and i fired it up one day and it just came on and stayed on for like 20 mins until i turned it off then i turned it back on and it didnt do anything and about 5 mins later it just started working again so im thinking either the connection to the radio or the speaker.
