My life with Buicks

My family has been Buick people for a very long time. When my father got out of the service after WWII, he bought a new Triple Black 1947 Buick Roadmaster Convertible. He also at one time owned a baby Blue and White 1957 Roadmaster Convertible and a 96 Roadmaster. My Uncle was an Electra 225 Convertible owner, he's had a 1959; a 1962; a 1965; and a 1969, subsequent to that, he had a 1971 Centurian. While I was in High School my Dad was driving a 1965 Wildcat convertible and then a 1970 LeSabre Convertible (My first car) (See Picture). My mother around the same time, had purchased our only new car a 1969 Buick Skylark Sport Coupe.

Well I totaled the 1970 LeSabre while I was in College. I've been pining away for a replacement ever since. My second car was a 1970 Riviera which I painted BamBoo Creame (See picture). Since then, I've owned 76 Regal; 1973 Centurian Convertible; a 1980 Park Avenue (BamBoo Creame); and for 18 years I owned a 1982 Riviera Convertible.

About 4 years ago I purchased a legitimate replacement for my 70 LeSabre. I found 1970 Wildcat Convertible (BamBoo Creame) with only 28.800 miles on the odometer. 2 years ago Thanksgiving I purchased a 1969 Skylark Gran Sport. So now have similar cars to the ones I learned to drive on. The Gran Sport is an Air Conditioned Convertible that I am now restoring. It was an Automatic that I put a 4 speed in with the correct 3.42 posi gears and the correct optional consolette with Tach and Shorty console. I will be finishing the car with white (Metallic Parchment interior) like the finished car in the picture. These two cars I will be Keeping. I also have a 77 Riviera that needs a restoration. I bought that one as a favor to a friend just to take it off her hands. (Last Picture) anyone interested in that car let me know mstapell@yahoo.com

I'm now replying to my own post as time has changed my collection. I now have the first 3 cars of my youth. I sold the 77 Riviera, and in the spring of 2018 I purchased a 69 Riviera. This car has the same console that my 70 Riviera had, so very cool the way the shifter handle come out of the right wall of the console. I recently got it back from a really good paint job. Everything on the exterior has been touched except the glass and top. Here are some pictures.
