So ... in the Pit Stop section on pg 142, a guy asks about max bore sleeving for a Flathead.

Marlan points out that Darton has an entire interlocking system which involves boring out the entire cast sleeve assembly and installing wet sleeves ... and they do this for multiple architectures. However, oddball stuff like the Ford Flathead and SBB / Rover they aren't set up for.

I just called Darton.

This is NOT feasible for the Rover aluminum blocks because they aren't designed with long enough head bolts. They've had a 4.6L in and looked at it.

Buick 350 or 300 iron block may still be an option. Total cost for development and installation would likely run north of $5000.

On the other hand, a SBB 350 on stock stroke and 4.0" bore gives you 387 cubes. Add a stroker crank to that like SBBJohnny is running and ... ?


Of course, this also has cross applications to v6s and straight 8s.
