the timing cover on my 1964 Sklylark with a 300 cu in engine was damaged by improper maintenance before I purchased the vehicle. The mechanic is going through the engine now to replace gaskets and seals and wanted to replace the timing cover. I ordered (what should have been the correct) replacement, but it apparently has 2 bolt holes in the cover that aren't on the block or in the gasket. Is it OK to leave them empty or do I need to, somehow, find a different part? All of the 1964 timing covers I can find online seem to have the same layout.
