very simple poll. just state what the gas price is in your area, and in what city/state. here in St.Paul, Minnesota. gas is $2.69.9 for reg unleaded.

Re: Gas Prices

The Price Fluctuation in the Northeast is Rediculous'

Anywhere from 2.59/9 to 2.75/9 off the Interstates.

There are some towns where a motorist cannot pump his own gas (Safety Issue) therefore the price is higher.

Yet in New Jersey it is a State Law that gas has to be pumped by an "attendent" and they have the cheepest prices in the Region.

A lot of Fluxuation has to do with State and Local Taxes

Re: Fuel Prices

The Price of Fuel Oil is about the same!

What are Older Retired People going to do? Those on Fixed Incomes who rely on Social Security.

Between PropertyTaxes and Fuel, they are essentually out of business!

Whatever happened to the Alaskan Pipe-Line?

I don't want to bring Politics into this but????????

Brown Envelops Filled with Dead Presidents ring a Bell!

Lobbiests?

We are too dependent on middle east oil, AND the enviroment gang along with the leftist have strangled off shore drilling. They just did it again in California--they had a good liberial Judge stop them with an order to have a enviroment study, which take years. I am sorry but all these do gooders have to get their act together or we will all be riding bikes to work, if we don`t freeze to death this winter first. Life is a gamble--do what needs to be done and belive we can take care of the mistakes. Be an American and get er done! Just once I would like to see a President say stick it in your ass---where gonna do the the right thing for our USA and if you don`t like it---tough!! The country that I remember as a kid is slipping away and I want it back!!! God-motherhood-apple pie- and the flag!!!!!!!!!!! And if the ones who are moving in don`t like AMERICA-----------gooooo home!!

So much for "A very simple poll"! I happen to be one of those Californian, leftist environmental people you seem to think are bad. So you "want the country you remember as a kid" back, but you think protecting and preserving the environment is bad? "Do what needs to be done and believe we can take care of the mistakes"? I believe what needs to be done is a little forethought that prevents mistakes. Just like working on a car, you save a lot of trouble by doing it right the first time instead of trying to go back and constantly correct what you half-assed. I applaud people who ride bikes to work or drive hybrids. These are GOOD things! Now with that said, I believe we also have the right to drive our old, polluting, gas guzzelers, but we have to understand that with that right there is a cost. If we're not willing to pay that cost, we are lucky to have other options. I, for one, am willing to pay that cost. One of my cars is 42 years old and the other is 53 years old. If I didn't love old cars so much I would probably be driving a hybrid. One good thing about over-inflated gas prices is that it motivates car builders to build more efficient engines.
By the way, I am paying $3.09 for super unleaded in San Francisco.

I think the current president is telling the working man that every single day.
Just incase you didn't make it to the end of my last post...

Gas in San Francisco is $3.09 for super-unleaded.

Its gone mad in Australia as well in the last few weeks the fuel has gone from a $1.05 aud to a $1.30 per litre for standed unleaded. Which works out about $4 US per US gallon. Whats going on I hear from news sources that China is a big juganaught grabbing as much steel & oil as they can.

$2.69 for regular in Akron, Oh. My family just returned from florida yesterday and said they only paid $2.27 down there.

Chub-chub, I have no problem with taking care of the enviroment, I like clean water, air. But I do belive that not doing anything is worse.Close to 50% of our oil is imported, if they shut off the spigot were in trouble. The far left enviromentalist just want to shut us down. I think hybrids and bikes are fine, but I can`t ride to work everyday 15 miles and I am sure when it`s -20 below I won`t be!! They have been off shore drilling all over the world and over the years I think they have a pretty good track record. Why sit and wait, when it`s out there. It may not make us totally independent, but we will better off if we can put the pressure back on them. You don`t think these people are very carful at what they do?? That everything that the oil companies do is done with the thought of making a mistake? We as a Country need oil to survive and until we get something better what other choices do you think we have? On our President, we will have to agree to disagree. Ya I like my old cars too---but we need fuel to drive them, Good Luck to ya.

RE: Gas Prices

That's about right.

Govermental Agencys want to screw Everyone Evenly Across the Board.

They Only want Unsatisfied Customers!

Legistators are too lazy and only want uncomplicated easy calculated kick-backs. And Lobbyists don't want to confuse them after They get Their Cut!

There seems no end in the price increases of fuel world wide. I read in one of the mornings papers that China had to shut down most of its fuel stations as they had run out fuel. Their industry is taking as much as they can & the demand is now stripping supply world wide which is driving up the price of a barrel of oil.

Keeseville Ny 2.769
St.Albains Vt.2.519
Montreal Canada 1.25 per liter x 4 =5.00 ca. dollars per gal + or -afew oz.
The word on the news is this happen about every 20 years. I hate ti tell them ,the prices have been slowly rising for the past 20years. Then we're really getting slammed this year!! :shooter:

the real shame in all this, the oil compamies are making huge profits, closing refineries(for repairs), and not building any new ones. someonesays, shut down the country for a day in protest, how many of us can lose a days pay, and not have it hurt us or our families?

just want ta thank ya'll for the replies on the gas poll. yep it blows alright but I myself dont have any answers. still going to drive my truck. ( a bit more fruggle) winters up here in the great white north are gonna really blow. but what really ya going to do FREEZE???:clonk:project update, doing upper and lower control arms and brake system on rosalee. so all that partook cheers:beers:

Re: Fuel

I imagine wood and coal burning stoves will become popular once again this winter.

Time to start spliting and stacking.
