East Tenn prices from $1.98-$2.14 in the past 2 weeks. Before that,it was around 1.89-1.99.Don't be mad at us.It's just that we are too poor to pay off anybody-even the oil companies.

$2.69 for regular in Akron, Oh. My family just returned from florida yesterday and said they only paid $2.27 down there.

Saw gas for $2.19 at the BP in Uniontown today.....hurry maybe you can catch it before it goes up.
My other car, btw is a Hybrid..but it sucks in the snow so is usually parked-Troublefree for 111k miles- no lie! Still has original brakes! Best average tank was 85 mpg (after i first bought it) and usually average in the 60-66 mpg range. I plan to drive my Park Ave this winter and start fixing some minor issues in the spring before I give it to my son....unless I decide to keep it!

It's going for about $1.95 here in Norfolk, Virginia.
Forces me to be more selective about the days I take
the Riv out of the garage. $1.95 is for regular 83 octane
which I wouldn't put in my lawn mower.
If you want the good stuff, 93 octane white gas its
about .35 a gallon more.

$1.97/gal for 89 octane (regular); @2.22/gal for 93 octane (premium); however sadly, the prices are going up as we speak... :coo:

demand will be drastically increased in the nyc area due to the mass transit strike along with tolls on the bridges and tunnells. it's a double edged sword

Re: White Gas

Hey Chris,

I haven't heard the term White Gas in about 25 years.

Amaco was always called White Gas. I was white years ago because the never used Lead in their Fuel they used Nickel.

I haven't seen a Amaco Station in New England in eons.

Stopped and fueled with Amaco in New Jersey 2 Summers ago. That particular station has changed brands as of last year.

Amaco was ALWAYS Good Gas. I was like Rocket Fuel. You could really notice the increase in performance!

I wonder what happened to it?

Gobbled up by larger companys I would guess.

Hey Bob,

In our last communication, ywe talked about the all GM show at Surf Buick in Sea Girt (WALL TWP).

How was it this year?

I would consider moving back to NJ all my family is there.

Real Estate is a bit too rich for my blood. I would need to get a REAL Good paying job...like 6 figures.

Lifestyle requires 2 incomes.

Currently @$7.19 per gallon in the UK!! $5.39 of which is government fuel tax.
Politicians are the same the World over:angry: . Driving a V8 takes some thinking about, but its worth it. Our daily driver is 1600cc @ 29 mpg and 2nd car is a Smart car 2 seater turbo-charged 600cc@ 51+ mpg. Engine on Smart is 2/3rd the size Per cylinder of the Buick!!!

I know which is most fun to take the whole family of 5 to car shows, Three abreast on the front seat.:shield: :bana:

White Gas

Tom,
Yes it was called AMOCO (American Oil Company), they were bought by BP
(British Petroleum), sad sign of the times. It burns very clean but it never had the lead wich served as a top cylinder lubricant, I dump a little Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank, another old product. We can still get both old
products down here in Virginia. My old cars seem to love the combination.

Re: Amoco

Hi Chris,

I certainly was a great product and as you said clean burning.

They used Nichel instead of Lead.

It is Jan 9th 2006 down here in Texas, where everything is BIG, gas prices are too. $2.25-2.60 a gallon , which pisses me off , because 2 mos ago it fell well under 2 bucks. like 1.80-1.90. This summer, around the time Katrina hit, it rose well over 3.00 to about 3.25-3.50.. crazy huh? U people in the UK are being Freaked over worse than us? 4-6 bucks for a gallon of gas? Public buses are the smartest things these days. TOO bad i never used a public bus or train growing up.This is a shame.

Re: Gas Prices

Gas Prices here in Rhode Island "Spiked" an increase of 13 cents a gallon today.

The rock bottom price for a gallon of unleaded regular is $2.38. That's 11 cents higher than the average price of the other 48 states on the mainland.

They just keep on pushing the envelope where it lands in the hands of some big wig filled with a whole bunch of dead presidents.
