Gas pedal modification for Th400 KDS??

I'll start by saying I have looked through a bunch of previous posts and not find anything that answers my particular question so I'm going to start my own thread. I purchased the kickdown switch bracket and a kickdown switch when I went to install it on my car I realized I have two cables and the cable for the 350 kickdown switch Mount is writing the way of the switch. Should I just cut that off and remove that cable? I assume that it doesn't go to anything since the 400 is vacuum and kickdown switch.

The cable is for the THM350, so you do not need it anymore. If it is in one piece, don't cut it off, remove it. You might be able to sell it.

So, I can cut the little eyelet off of the gas pedal then. It's literally right in the way of the switch being able to function..I'll remove it gently..thank you!

You don't need to cut anything. Usually there is a plastic grommet that has a slit in it and you can remove the cable intact.

Came out fine! Gas pedal and bracket, switch are in. Should I dedicate vacuum line to only trans... And is there a favorite spot to connect?

The vacuum modulator fittings are male tubing into a female receiver (fitting on the manifold and modulator on the trans) at both ends (notice the ring on the male tube?). They seat against each other with a rubber tubing sleeve over both to seal the connection. On my '72, the tube was all cattywampus at the manifold end, so I cut the end off and made a new length with compression fittings. Bill

As long as its 3/16(?) and a slip fit into the fitting you should be good to go. Take a marker to gage the engagement and locate the rubber sealing tubing. I think the rubber is like 5/32 vacuum line. Bill
