I pulled the fuel pump out and sent it to rebuilder and I would like some info on putting it back in. Not sure if arm goes on top or below cam lobe. How to get it right? Email rcholmespok@yahoo.com
I will have look tomorrow. Some of the arms are cast iron, and some are pressed steel, the pressed steel are obvious, only one side has a surface. As usual, I am probably wrong
Here is a cross-section view of the ‘56 fuel/vacuum pump. The rocker arm return spring puts the arm in the down position at rest. The camshaft eccentric raises the arm to actuate the fuel and vacuum pumps. So the lower face of the rocker arm rides on top of the eccentric.

Well my arm is cast. Fuel pump Housing was broken because bolts were loose anyway received different answers I think arm goes under since spring pushes up on arm.
