PerTronix Billet Plug and Play Distributors D151700

for stock 340

Myself, I run a points distributor. Usually a dual points distributor. I do run a high output coil with heavier than OE wires and a plug gap of 0.045".

I do believe Telriv ( CLICK HERE )does electronic conversions on original distributors.

LJC,

I rebuild, recurve & install electronic ignition conversion kits in your stock distributor.
Buick distributors are pretty much bullet proof & can be rebuilt to operate as good as or better than new.

Thank you, Tom
Had mine done some time ago and really like it. Of course, the EFI is controlling the timing.

Amazon has the Pertronix in stock. You should set up the distributor with silver springs and the 10 limiter. You will have 20 degrees advance in the distributor, according to their setup sheet. You will need to run more initial, at least 12 and probably 16, 12 +20 =32. 16+20 = 36. Btw, is it a 2bbl or 4bbl? I you have the 2 bbl a 2GC off of a 61-63 Le Sabre, or a 71-74 Pontiac (any 2bbl) has the big throttle plate and I think the Pontiac has the big Venturi. The recurved stock distributor will work fine too, just start at 34 - 36 total. The distributor guy will know but I would want my total in by 3500 or sooner. Dual exhaust (2 1/4), big 2GC and the distributor is probably worth 35 HP. A good running 340 is pretty quick assuming the engine is sound mechanical. A couple of things I forgot. The bigger 2gc needs an adaptor like pictured below. Also I would grab the air cleaner assembly off ofcarbadapter.jpg the bigger carb,
