Crossing the border

Hey what's up everyone?
I was wondering if anyone knows whats involved in buying used parts from another person in the US and bringing them back to Canada.
Aside from declaring the items, is there any paperwork that I need to have with me ie. a reciept or some sort of other documentation?
The last time I crossed the border I was pulled into inspection for no reason.. With a bunch of engine parts in my truck next time I don't really want a hassle you know?

Thanks!

Ben

You will need a bill of sale even for used parts. Itemize the items as well as possible. It is best if the seller's phone number is on the bill so that the border gaurd can phone to confirm purchase. If you are bringing home a parts car, you don't need much else. If you wish to register it at some future time you will need a copy of the old registration. Then hope for a merciful gaurd :(

No import tax here Nick. They do nail you gst, and in B. C. they now collect provincial sales taxs. They also collect $100.00 luxury tax if it is a car equiped with air whether it works or not.
