some parts from the Land Rover v8 ( such as the timing cover ) will also work. the original Buick 215ci v8 is the same thing as the Land Rover 3.5L and this engine is the first generation of the Buick small block line. the 300 and 340 are the second generation, being the same except that the 340 has a longer stroke and taller block deck height so the intake manifolds are incompatible. both are taller deck than the 215ci / 3.5L

I have had real problems in the UK trying to source parts for my 1966 Special
get into one of the British v8 clubs. those guys are all the time picking up Buick 300s. they adapt the 300 cranks to stroke the 215ci engine out to ~ 260ci. the rest of the parts they don't really have a use for.
