Buick Oil Pump gears

Has anyone got the relative dimensions for 215 oil pump gears, Rover SD1 gears and Buick 455 gears. I know a friend fitted a Rover oil pump cover to his 455 but promptly melted the bearings due to starvation. My, probably mistaken, thinking is that the Buick cover has bigger oil passages and also it has larger gears. As the pump covers interchange the gears may be the same diameter but taller in the big block application. Can anyone help with dimensions or pictures of the relative sizes.

I would advise not to mix and match, we had plenty of issues with the wrong cover, blowing up oil filters etc. TA performance make a kit, but the stock oil pump is fine when properly setup. 15-20 pounds at idle hot and 45-60 at 4000 rpm is more than adequate. If your engine smoothing out the feed holes, fitting every thing well. On the V6 we would re frill the oil holes in the cam bearings to restrict the top end oil.
 
Nothing will be done without due consideration, we have been racing the Rover for nearly 40 years and have developed most things along the way by mixing and matching parts. This is a race only motor so longevity isn't an issue. Adequate oil volume is. We need more volume in order to ease bearing clearances, most of the stuff around is ancient and past it's best. Engineering something different is not an issue for us. I am curious about the size of the gears on the Big Block Buick.
 
Overall height is 1.123", pump housing is probably supposed to be >0.125"
Overall diameter of a used gear is 1.6658"
 
Thanks for the responses, I think I may be able to work with the 455 gears. Just hope they are bigger than the later Rover. I am sure I see a boost plate and maybe remote filter adaptor in our future.
