Buick Boys...

...am curious if anybody has done any business with Buick Boys in Buena Park, CA and if so, what your experience was, if you'd recommend them, etc.

I already have done business with him twice...just curious as to what other people's experiences with Rodney have been.

... thought I (and at least one other board member) already replied to that same question earlier this week... Can't find that thread here anymore :clonk:Was it deleted??

Rodney does not approve of the comment made by tacousmc because he does not recognise him as someone he had dealt with. Perhaps a legitemate comment. I would prefer that there wasn't a bunch of idle knocking of someone. That does not mean that participants can't post their side of an experience.

I am just struggling with how to deal with it:confused:

Buick Boys

I guess you have to hve been bitten by a snake before you can say how bad it hurt's.I just responded to a private message from Rodney. It's to bad he didn't want to go public.Trust me He know's who I am now.

My intention in starting this thread was merely to find out what other people's experience has been with somebody who advertises on the board. As I had indicated, I have dealt with Rodney twice, but I never said what my own experience had been, because the purpose of the thread was to find out a general consensus of opinion other than my own. I sincerely believe that this is the appropriate forum for a pertinent question as us 50's Buick guys don't exactly have many people we can go to for parts.
That being said...Bob, I really don't think that tacousmc posted anything to merit deletion. His reply did not sound like "idle knocking" to me. Clearly two passionate opinions from opposing sides presents you a dilemma but censorship is rarely an effective method for problem solving.

I saw some of the thread before it was deleted, and did not see any facts or if there was an attempt to resolve the issue. So in my opinion, knocking without facts = Delete. If somone wanted to post the facts of a situation after a resolution could not be had, then it would have merit as a post. Bob, I think you were in a tough spot, but I would have done the same.

Hello ladies and gentleman, My name is Rodney McCormick the subject of this thread. I don't believe there should be a cursifiction without a trial. While I now know who tacousmc is I can comment. There was a sour deal with this person reguarding a restoration that we where helping them with. I provide a restoration sevice by which I hire vendors to perform different portion of a restoration. This person was unhappy with the results of the painting portion of the restoration and pulled the car (37 Buick 4dr Special). At that point I had them sign documents stating that they recieved all of there parts and where responsible for the restoration, since they where taking it elsewhere. The fact thats not being told to you by tacousmc is that she trina the dauther of the car owner fred (her father) who the car belong to worked for me at the time and was fully a where of what, who and where the work was going to be done on her fathers car. What she did was call the vendor without my knowledge or approval and tried to see what the financial arrangement where on the contract. when she was not given the information things went south. The vendor called me to let me know that she was bad news and he wanted nothing to do with her and said that I need to watch out!!!. She is the one that wrote the comments. she has told her father things that I didn't comment to. I am/would be more than willing to resolve any matters that I am involved with.

I have had people that where happy and some that where not as we all have. The one thing that is a fact, is that we are not very fast. I have a full time job (12 hrs daily) and I have to do most of the work my self as i have had a hard time finding good people to work, first thing is most people today have no idea of what cars of the 50"s were like. so if there is a request for a certain part even if i tell them I generally end up having to make the call myself.

We no longer do restoration services, The buickboys business as it was has been sold. and is under new ownership(sale finalized 7-15-09) I will complete the sales/request that where taken prior to that point.
