Yes it’s a 455. I believe the stage 1 heads use the same casting number
 
Just install the larger valves.
No need to find another head.
That's the way Buick did it.
NOT a separate head or different casting numbers.

i think you'll want matched heads regardless, unless you happen on a 1972 had that matches your existing.

Yes, my 72 455 is a numbers car. I just want the parts to all work correct together. So if I get a head and it a Stage one I would just change the valves on it. But I would like the same casting numbers. What are the AIR holes about I hear some heads have ? Do all 72’s have them? Do those heads interchange without mods? My car does have an air pump on it. It was from Cal.
