Best hood for maximum airflow

I got a 70 skylark with the regular hood. Engine is a 462. Thinking of getting another one. Not sure which one tho. I'm thinking about swapping my intake manifold to a TA SPX with a few spacers and lower the compression + a Holley Terminator, so unsure about clearance under the hood.

GS-style hood or... a "Cowl" 3.5 inch one:

Thoughts?

For performance, I would choose the cowl induction. It works well and gives you extra room for aftermarket intakes etc. It would be best to make it a forced air intake sealing the air intake to the cowl.

Is 3.5" enough or should I get a 4" one? But it's gonna be sitting on a street car, not a strip car, so I don't want it to look stupid lol.

Looks are in the eye of the beholder! You ask best hood for performance. The best one would almost certainly be the higher one.
