Another down under newbie

G'day from Brisbane Australia. Nick name is Webby, about to (if it passes muster) buy a '69
Skylark. I'm an ex mechanic with lots of experience on '71 onwards Holdens which have a suprising amount of commonality with the GM A bodies.

So expect to hear from me- assuming I get the car! Deposit is down, will inspect & test drive on Wednesday & bring it home. Then it sits while I sell the Statesman and get ready to
go to our 1000 km race at Bathurst.

Plan is to have her on the road by x-mas.

Got it!

Brought the Skylark home today. Made a detour to drop some used engine oil off at the
recyclers. As usual, no good deed goes unpunished. She wouldn't start. Any way a $60 tow,
a new battery, oil & filter, an a tank of premium has made a world of difference.

Discovered oil dripping from the RHF shocker, so that would explain some of the evil handling. Nothing some new bushes, ball joints, shocks and some negative camber & positve caster won't fix.

So, I love it. After 27 years I'm back in an American car.:finish::finish::D:D

Expect to get lots of questions from me over the next few months.

Cheers.

Webby
