Hi,
I picked up a 4-bll intake last year for my 72 Skylark Custom Conv. and I want to know for sure that this intake will fit on my car. I tracked the Casting number to a 71 Buick 455 4-bbl. Currently on the car is the original 350 2-bbl and original carb. Another question would be how easy is the intake to replace? I've never actually messed with the engine components only the brakes, brake lines, carb & some of the electrical.

Thanks,

Filipe

Filipe,
I do not believe the 455 manifold will fit the 350. You will have to measur it to make sure. All of the aftermarket manifolds for the 455's will NOT work on a 350.
Hope this helps,

What should I be measuring or should I just remove the 2-bbl intake and compare the 2 measurements? Should I even be attempting this?

Thanks.

Hello Grease Monkey,

What I now is that the 455 whil not fid the 350.
The water holes are not in the same place.
The work is not so difficult. You disengage al hoses after you loos al water out of the radiator and engine. You disengage the carburetor from its conections. Then you lossen the bolts. One left one richt. Not ale at one site at onse.Whit A bit of pulling the intake sut com of esaly. Placing the intake is makin ale surfeses clean put the new gasket in place. When it is the compleat one it whil cats on the ege of the head on 4 ponts. Then you put som liquid gasket aroud the holes and then you lower the very heavy intake sloly in its place. The bolts you pul from the middel to the eges and left to richt. Furst les then more. 55 torque (ft/lbs)at the end.
I hope I have bine klear.

The 455 will not fit the 350, Best bet if you want to do it right check out EBAY you might be able to get a 4 bbl intake for your car cheap. If not look into buying an edelbrock aftermarket they run about average 145.00 intake gasket set is about 45.00

hope this helps
P.S. If you can do a brake job you can do an intake. be sure to drain the coolant first. or you will have coolant all over the place.

Bobby,

I have checked Edelbrock and I don't see any 350 intakes that they make. If you know of one please let me know..Thanks

I just had a look on ebay and there is an original equipment intake and a Poston intake for the 350 Buick. Use the link at the bottom of this page and Buicks.net will get a small credit:)

I have a 4bbl intake from a 1979 Buick 350.
I am now using a TA intake.
$50 plus freight.

I've got someone just south of me who has had a whole 72 Buick 350 sitting in his garage for 4 years now and is telling me that he will give it to me for $100 bucks, I just have to get it out of his garage. What are the chances that any of this engine is still ok after sitting this long. I mean at the least I can take the carb and intake off it and use it on my current 350 but he tells me that just before he totalled the car the engine was running great. BTW anyone know the weight of this engine cause I'm going to have to get a hoist to move it?

The 350 will weigh about 500# You can check to see if it will turn freely,if so you have a pretty good chance. You can also find the mileage to see if you want to chance installing. At $100 you don,t have a great deal to lose esp. with carb and starter.

Edelbrock Does not make An intake For the 350 Buick. To my knowledge, Only TA performance And Poston Offer Aftermarket intakes for this engine. I've Got A TA performance intake and An Edelbrock performer 750 On My '71 skylark and it runs great.

For that cheap buy them, dont even think about it, even if you dont have use for the engines you can sell the parts and make your money back, I sold a set of buford 350 stock heads for $150.00 so you can make your money back.
