67 400 block

The only difference between a 400 and the 430 is the bore size. Seems to me that if you did find a 400 block, it still wouldn't be the numbers matching motor, and odds are it would be rebuilt, probably overbored, meaning it really wouldn't be a 400 technically anyway. Wouldn't it be easier just to pass it off as a 400? No one will know the difference if you didn't tell them. Get the correct engine decals, that's really all you need to do. For all intents and purposes, the 400-430-455 are the same just different cylinder bores.

Ya you got a point.. just thought it might be nice to have a correct period motor but im good with the 430 that’s in it now

Just make it look like a 400 (decals). The iron intake has the same casting number for either 400 or 430. The head casting numbers are different, but you can't see them without removing the valve covers. The block casting number is all the way in the back near the transmission parting line, so not easy to see. No one will know it's a 430.
