62-64 full size fan shrouds really this big? Need help mounting one in a 61 LeSabre or a better idea?

I have a 61 that didn't come with a shroud. I purchased a repop 62 shroud from CARS and the opening is huge. Ideally an inch clearance all the way around is what you want. I'm wondering now if I should fab something up. It's 20 3/4 wide and height is 22 1/2" anything would be an improvement over no shroud, but want to maximize cooling the best I can. I have a stock style replacement radiator that I'll be sticking with. Either need to scrap this shroud and find something better. Fab or find some 62-64 shroud brackets that might fit my 61 core support. This is the shroud I have http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5337991291&icep_item=232447424917

Any other ideas for a shroud?

The shroud you show, the guy says he has brackets, I take it they can not be modified to fit your car? By Hollander, the radiator appears to interchange with '62+ cars. If the fit problem is the fan, you could find a larger one.
Earlier shrouds were just fabricated tin, a decent tin basher could build something or if there were any shows you could just go to one and have a look for similars that you could modify, damn Corona!

Thanks, yea I messaged the guy. There is also a bunch of universal kits for fabbing your own shroud.

CARS, Inc. in NJ is an absolute train wreck when it comes to customer service. If you have purchased through eBay you'll have some support if you want to return it, but if you bought off their website it is a different story. I do recommend the seller you linked to- James Kehr with BestOfferCounts. Summit sells two universal kits for fan shrouds for around $60.
These shrouds could replace the one you have bought, or could be used to make a smaller diameter hole in the one from CARS. You'd still be looking at needing to join the fiberglass and steel with either screws, epoxy, both, etc.

Thanks Joe,

That Summit deal is probably my best bet. I'm just wondering how to attach it to my radiator or core support. Maybe once I get started it'll come to me.
