56 Century Dynaflow

I recently purchased a nice running 322 with a good shifting dyanflow from a guy who is putting in a performance package in his car. He had a couple of top end leaks on the engine which i fixed but he said the transmission leaked in the front end like under bell. Everyone is selling the seal kits for the converter which has the large outer o-ring for the cover and usually a seal and bushing. I just paid for and downloaded an 80 page dynaflow service manual that details everything but no mention of even where a seal is and how to check it over and replace if needed. I have the transmission on a work table with cover off and that big o-ring looks fine, so what is my next step. To remove the pump inside converter it speaks of a special tool needed to align the parts as they are slid off the shaft so i haven't proceeded any further as i don't have any tool like that. Any help or direction would be much appreciated.
