53 3 speed rebuild parts

Can anyone lead me to a parts source for rebuilding a 1953 3 speed manual?
I pulled the cover and the front gear cup drum (if I am using the correct term) is floating. the retaining clip is missing and I found remnants in the case. I have not torn down the transmission.

Good to see you again, Frank.
That drum is the synchronizer. I just recently did mine.

Bet he has what you need. He is a transmission shop in KY. Stuff from 1920-2000.

Thanks Ben,
Did you do the rebuild yourself, or send it out? Or did you just replace the drum?
I thought I was going to be able to get it back on the road for spring. The car and engine are under lock down at the school. I had the custodian put the transmission outside so I could stop by and pick it up. Something to work on...
I am having a few regrets bringing the car there. I could be working on the wiring if I had it at home. But I was able to clean up the underside really well with it at the school. It is so nice to be able to put it up on a lift.
I hope you and those close to you are all staying safe and well!

I second the recommendation for Dennis. DME built for my 65 Wildcat, 65 GS, 69 GS, 70 Gs...
I could not be happier.

Frank, I did it myself! Almost broke my arm trying to pat myself on the back. 1st one I have done. If you have a Shop Manual, just follow the step by step. If you don't have one, shame on you. Use the '52 on on here. I replaced 2nd gear and syncho and output bearing. Works good now . Just came in from a 100 mile drive.

Good luck
Ben

Hi Ben, I did not see your reply! Good for you man!
I sent mine down the road to a local shop. He found a few more issues and I am working on gathering up all the parts for him. The one thing I cannot find is any replacement parts for the torque ball. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Oh, and yes, I do have a manual!
