430 Parts

Hey guys, having some issues finding parts for the BB 430. I've found some cams and gaskets but cant seem to find pistons for it. I've tried Summit and Jegs, they both seem surprised that they dont carry any pistons for this motor. Any help? I'd like to upgrade the pistons as well to a better material and design if possible

My 430 only needed < .010 overbore to clean it up but only .020 pistons were available so that's what the shop had to do. It isn't easy to find 430 specific parts. High performance slugs need to be custom made. Whatever is common with the 455 is easy to find. Check with Taperformance.com. TA is one of the major Buick engine parts suppliers.
 
Custom pistons with improved compression distance are more affordable than ever. Getting the piston to zero deck has many advantages, improved efficiency, power, and detonation resistance. Thank you I had actually found TAPerformance not long ago but still havent purchased anything yet. Thank you, I think I will be going through them. My block is at the machine shop right now, so I'm just waiting for my block to be finished so I can order my parts

Very cool! I can't wait for the day where I'll be able to stop just doing repairs and actually pull my motor and do a full rebuild. As my poor 430 is tired and in major need of a rebuild.

Right now I just don't have the room. I literally have less than 4 feet from my front bumper to the work bench. I also have about three inches between the garage door to my rear bumper. So yeah... space is a major issue right now.
